The owner, a writer and poet, built a retreat in the Patagonia Mountains along the oak- studded Harshaw Creek. (www.laurachester.com) This inspiring artist initially worked with architects Bodie Robins and Paul Weiner to help her envision her concepts, before formally commissioning the final design and development of the project to Architect, William Ford to turn her ideas and concepts into a reality that would speak in a way rarely seen in residential architecture. The success of the resulting home resonated with the old world, Spanish-Mexican hacienda tradition very particular to this southwest region. Tucson Home magazine picked up on the project because of its clarity in expressing an image and a quality not easily found. They commissioned free lance-writer Lynne Marie Zerance to compose an excellent piece on the project.
